Graduate Fashion Week Show
Yesterdays meeting came as a shock to everyone, everyone is really disapponited that we are not going down the catwalk at GFW.
The only small consolation is that we can spend more money on the show, and have to try and get the industry to come to Derby, everyone did some amazing placements at Julian Macdonald, Boxfresh, John Lewis and Playboy to name a few. If we can get representatives from theses places them their will be more interest from the media. If we were to make one of the shows a press and indusrty show, as sort of a preview. I am going to put together a list of Press and industry to invite to the 'press and Industry Show' From visiting the two option locations, Derby Cricket groung seems to be the best option as the room is a blank canvas and there is a huge ceiling so that we can have a high catwalk, also to create a professional atmosphere as though we were staging a show, like it was graduate fashion week.

Make up TrendsI have been looking at different make up trends of WGSN. I have look at trends from Dior, MAC, YSL and Clarins. From looking at the different trends on WGSN, i can see that lots of bold bright colours seem to be on the eyes, face and lips. The lips are different shades of bright red, with a very smooth tanned skin and dark but coloured eyes. The colour pallet for the eyes is a mustard green, lilac, rose pink, blue and grey. They are bright colours mixed with some neutral tones to make the bright colours stand out. I have spoken to a lecturer and students at Retford college who are doing a voactional course in Stage, Photogragher, film and fashion.

Gladrags PR
To show what i plan to do for my PR company i have made a separate sketchbook. In this sketchbook i will research into other fashion PR's to see what their website content is also research into fashion and style websites to get ideas for putting together my website. I will research and produce business cards, and objectives of what Gladrags PR will do for the fashion show.

Location
I have researched into three different locations for the fashion show. I have looked at Pride Park stadiam where the fashion show has taken place before. Derby County Cricket Ground where the show was very sucessful last year. The space at the cricket ground is very appropriate as the catwalk can be high and the hall is a blank space. Being a blank space has its advantages as the show wouldnt look as corparate as the suites at Pride Park. The third location that i have looked at is the new to have it at the new campus Mackworth Road, the advantages of holding it at the university is that their would be no venue cost.

Website
I have been thinking about the design of what my website would be. I have been looking at different fashion/style/PR websites to gain creative inspiration. The website will be good work for my portfolio. My portfolio will also appear on the website as a way of advertising myself. On the website i will put fashion shoots that i have done, including a work experience page that will show what i did at Mizz Magazine and Billington Jackson. It will include Press releases, Mizz Magazine shoots, and events that i have helped to arrange.

Face Of Fashion
Today when i was working through my sketchbook, i decided to rip all the pages out ad size them down to fit in a A4 sketchbook as i feel its alot for suitable and shows my ideas alot neater and clearer. I was also able to add pages to different sections of the sketchbook. I am still working on my model search pages as that is the main focus of my research, i worked with a final year as my in-house placement and i really enjoyed working on the what i am working on the Face of Fashion. I have been looking at different ways to source models, i have found websites where new faces are trying to get noticed, local modelling agencie that could be approached to work in association with the model search. I hope to do some styling in my final project, using the models from the search. The styling would be good to put in my portfolio as it show my creativeness and ideas.

Derby Graduate Show Awards
Last week i went to london for the graduate fashion week meeting and it got me to thinking about awards. There is normally an award for the bes model but there is nothing to congratulate the final year students for their collection and hard work over the past 3/4 years. So have been thinking about sponsorship, and how awards could be created best collection, best womenswear, best menswear, best stand and best alturnative final work. Then have lecturers, industry judge what is best, they would win gift certificates etc. This could be presented at the gala show, i would have to work at getting even more sponsrship.
